Finger lime (Microcitrus australasica) is a small, shrubby and thorny Australian native citrus shrub or small tree with dark-green leaves and white flowers that appear from autumn to summer. 

Flowers are followed by the unique lime fruits which are an elongated, cylindrical shape (finger-like) in a variety of colours - green, yellow, purple, brown & black.  

The fruit has small bead-like pulp that resembles caviar, and has a light green, yellow or pink colour with a tangy citrus flavour.  Fruit is highly nutritious and rich in Vitamin C and high in antioxidants.

Australian native Finger Limes are the caviar of the citrus world - cut them open and spoon out the insides like caviar. They're not as sour as a regular lime so you can eat them straight, or add them to sweet and savoury dishes, cocktails, beers, jams and jellies or use them as a garnish.
